Colleen Brisnehan is an Environmental Protection Specialist with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Hazardous Material and Waste Management Division. Her responsibilities with the Department include oversight of assessment and remediation projects at contaminated hazardous waste sites. She is also involved in the development of new regulatory requirements for the management of asbestos-contaminated soil.

Ms. Brisnehan was involved in the development of the Department’s guidance on the cleanup of methamphetamine labs, and coordinated the Department’s rule making process to establish meth lab cleanup regulations. She serves as a technical resource for the Department, local health departments, and the general public, in the areas of methamphetamine cleanup and sampling. She is involved with Colorado’s Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (DEC) and the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children.

Prior to joining the Department, Ms. Brisnehan spent ten years working on environmental assessment and remediation projects for an environmental consulting company and a major oil company. She holds a B. S. in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and has completed the General Practice Program at the Denver Paralegal Institute.
